USArtists International – Deadline Approaching! |

Mark your calendars and read the guidelines – the
first deadline for USArtists International applications
is fast approaching.
January 15, 2007 marks the application deadline for
projects taking place between March 16, 2007 and
February 28, 2008. May 7, 2007 is the deadline for
projects taking place July 2, 2007 and June 30, 2008.
USArtists International targets support for U.S.
dance and music ensembles and is currently focusing
on countries that comprise the European Union.
Grants are available to U.S. dance and music
ensembles that have been invited to participate in
international festivals in the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, the Czech Republic,
Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,
Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania,
Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia,
Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, and the
United Kingdom

Jazz Touring Network Holds Fall Session |

On November 12-13, 2006 current Jazz Touring
Network (JTN) participants (Classes 4-6) attended a
professional development and networking session at
the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center (CSPAC) in
College Park, MD. The agenda included sessions on
programming jazz and jazz audience development, as
well as time to discuss artists for 2007-2008 tours.
Faculty included Jeanna Disney, a booking agent with
the International Music Network, and Ruth Waalkes
and Paul Brohan of CSPAC’s Cultural Participation
Program. The group also was able to enjoy a
performance by the Maria Schneider Orchestra, and
met with Ms. Schneider the next day to discuss her
work and career.
JTN participants have been funded for engagements
by the following artists in 2006-07:
pianist, Cyrus Chestnut with gospel choir
and/or vocalist, Carla Cook; saxophonist
Ravi Coltrane; vocalist Rachael
Price; and the Preservation Hall Jazz
Band.
In addition to JTN tours, several presenters are
participating in a February 07 tour of the Don
Byron Plays Junior Walker project through the
2006-07 Mid Atlantic Tours program. Presenters will
be eligible for fee support for Jason Moran and
the Bandwagon for 2007-08 Mid Atlantic Tours.

New! The 2007 PennPAT Artist Roster Book
will be mailed out in early December and the
guidelines and application will be available at
www.pennpat.org around the same time.
Upcoming deadlines for PennPAT Fee-Support
and New Directions grant applications:
- February 15, 2007: For projects
scheduled between June 1, 2007 and May 31,
2009.
- June 15, 2007: For projects requesting
$1,500 or less, scheduled between September 1,
2007 and August 31, 2008.
PennPAT artists showcasing during the Arts
Presenters 50th Annual Members Conference January
19-23, 2007 in New York City
During the five busy days of the Arts Presenters
Annual Members Conference, there will be
opportunities to see showcases by PennPAT Roster
Artists. For a list of Roster Artists who are

American Masterpieces and Mid Atlantic Tour Funding Available - Going, Going, Almost Gone |

Special fee support grants are available to presenters
booking artists on Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation’s
2007-2008 American Masterpieces and Mid Atlantic
Tour rosters while supplies last. Don’t be the last
one on your block to access these funds only to find

The 2007-2008 ArtsCONNECT Guidelines will be
available online in early December. Be on the lookout
for the release announcement. The deadline for
upcoming applications is March 23, 2007.
